When dogs hunted in the wild, they didn't pitch a campfire and cook their meals; they ate it immediately, while it was fresh and before any bio-nutrients were able to escape. This is what nature intended and how their digestive and immune systems were built to operate. Raw feeding is all about feeding a biologically and species appropriate diet with un-processed, all natural living foods! Foods that are comprised of untouched living enzymes, proteins, healthy omega fatty and amino acids that aren't "cooked" away like kibble or canned food. It mimics how dogs would eat in the wild. From an overall health perspective, raw has been known to alleviate symptoms of and often cure diet bourne allergies such as weight gain, sickness, dehydration, lethargy, bowel irritations, gi issues and ailments normally associated with commercially available, nutritionally absent, grain/carbohydrate abundant, preservative filled, processed foods that are commonly found on store shelves today.When you feed your pet a cooked diet, the processing (cooking) actually destroys those untouched natural enzymes, healthy omega fatty acids and natural protein absorbability to nearly nothing. Not only is the bio-availability of their natural food source extinguished but then preservatives must be added for that processed food to have a shelf life. Studies have shown that a majority of these preservatives are known to promote allergies and even lead to several types of cancer in our pets. In 2012 a major company announced that they were going to be coating their dog foods & treats with Polyethylene to further extend that shelf life - basically putting plastic in pet food and putting our animals at even greater risk!
